5 Tips to get you Buzzing away
(1) You are what you eat! Beauty begins from within. Yes, even when it comes to your mane.
In order to achieve healthy hair growth and retention, it is important to keep this in mind as
much as possible. Below are 5 essentials that will improve your overall health, hair, skin and nails...
Water
Nuts
Berries
Salmon
Fruit
(2) Moisturize! What most don’t know, your hair, skin and nails are linked together. They make
up the trichology system. Moisturizing will benefit you in more ways than one. Just as you
apply lotion or oils to moisturize your skin at the beginning and end of your days, you should
also add this to your hair routine.
(3) Don’t be so hard on yourself! Patience is key. Tugging and raking your hair viciously is for
certain set up for failure. Hair growth is stimulated through circulation of blood cells. Be
sure to massage oil into your scalp (moisturize) and detangle gently to minimize excessive
shedding (natural daily hair shed is approx. 25-100 strands)
(4) Trim! I love using flowers as a perfect analogy to translate the benefits of trimming routinel
to my clients. “What do you do when you buy flowers and prep them to be the blooming
beauties of your home? You cut the ends off right? Right! And from there they blossom!”
So does your hair! What you trim off, you regain in less than 28 days (approx. 1cm) in most
cases during the Anagen phase (growth phase; see Hair Growth Transitions appendix).
(5) Don’t be a heat freak! Though most love when their hair is sleek and chic. Excessive use of heat can be damaging beyond repair (see Mechanical Damage appendix). Find products that serve a purpose and keep you from applying heat as often such as TGIN, which is formulated for naturals however can be used for array of hair types, light weigh, affordable and keeps hair frizz to a minimal with a bomb SMOOTH & HOLD EDGE CONTROL.
